Understanding how to use design, value and colour doesn’t have to be difficult. In this class you’ll learn some basic, easy to remember rules that will help you understand and apply these important elements of art. This isn’t your usual theory class. You will learn by doing and quickly be on your way to making stronger, more compelling artwork. Each class will include exercises and time to work on your own paintings.

Supplies: Set of acrylic paints, acrylic glazing medium , palette, paint brushes(I recommend 1″ flat, 1.25″ flat, 2″ flat and a few smaller flats and round brushes) palette knife and other mark making tools, 16″x 20″ pad of canvas paper or 140 lb watercolour paper, a board to mount the canvas paper on, canvases 12 x 16 or bigger, Isopropyl alcohol, roll of paper towel, sketch/note book, gray scale and value finder (sold at Kensington) 1 non-permanent fine marker,1 fine permanent marker, 2-4 clear plastic binder sleeves, reference photos of things you want to paint. (optional: hairdryer)
