When I saw the work of artist Brian Rutenberg for the first time it was one of those “Ah Ha!” moments for me. He does amazing, huge
abstract landscapes, lush with colour. Awesome. I was inspired to do the piece below and I know he will continue to inspire me to more experimental work. I’m having fun with it!

I recently was browsing around on the internet and came across some of the most interesting photos of bicycles.

I was struck by how old bikes from Asia and Europe convey so much beauty and character as opposed to most modern, North American bikes which seem to be built strictly for function. Just looking at these cool bicycles had me yearning to jump on and go for a ride. I was inspired to explore that feeling and share it through my paintings.
